Morecrofts were awarded this 522-bedroomed student accommodation scheme in Nottingham city centre by main contractor NMCN PLC after the successful completion of the 330-bedroomed scheme on Talbot Street.

The real achievement here was to hand over on time despite NMCN sadly going into administration halfway through this project. We adapted and were able to work closely with a really positive client – completing the scheme directly for Jensco and the team in time for the September 2022 academic year.

The project involved the new build of two linked student accommodation blocks containing 522 bedrooms and studios. Works to the 6-storey building near Nottingham train station included the complete design and installation of all electrical and life safety systems, such as mains distribution, sub mains, main switchgear and supplementary distribution equipment as well as lighting, emergency lighting, small power systems, fire alarm, data systems and lightning protection. This was a modern, high-specification project providing fantastic living accommodation for the large university population in Nottingham.
