Game changing Material Recycling Facility continues to progress
Morecrofts are proud to report that electrical installation at the Material Recycling Facility (MRF) in Coventry – Sherbourne Recycling – continues to progress well, with our latest images capturing the scale and complexity of the game-changing project.
Marking the next phase of construction, waste and recycling equipment manufacturer, Machinex has now joined Morecrofts and main contractor Clegg Food Projects on site as we work to deliver the “most advanced Material Recycling Facility of its kind in the UK, and potentially… the world.”
Complete with 14 sorting robots and 14 optical sorters, the project is “one of the first in the world that integrates AI at this scale” and looks to make a real difference to the recycling capabilities in the West Midlands.
Photovoltaic panels, installed onto the roof back in May, will provide up to 1.2 MW of renewable electricity to the state-of-the-art 129,000 sq ft building, which is set on 4-acre site and expected to be operational by Summer 2023.
Morecrofts are delighted to be working on a pioneering sustainability-led project that demonstrates the future of recycling solutions.
