Morecrofts complete Phase 2 of Space Park Leicester

After construction works on Phase 1 of the high profile Space Park Leicester project were concluded in spring of last year, Morecrofts are delighted to have recently completed Phase 2 of the prestigious scheme.

Working for Heage-based Bowmer and Kirkland, who recently handed over the outstanding facility, Morecrofts provided the design and installation of complete electrical services, including internal and external lighting, power distribution, fire alarm and security systems, and HV installation.

As part of the approx. 120,000 sq ft site, Phase 2 is a facility for advanced digital, AI and manufacturing technologies for the space industry. It houses laboratories, workshops, calibration facilities, and high technology spaces such as the double-walled insulator for the Mars Sample Return 2026 NASA ESA Mission.

Nick Morecroft, Operations Director and Jared Mitchell, Managing Director were thrilled to receive a message of thanks on behalf of the University of Leicester for the high-quality work provided by the Morecrofts team. Jack Whitfield, Senior Contracts Manager and Jon Dexter, Site Manager were particularly commended for their knowledge, professionalism and resilience, and we are very proud to see Jack, John, and our team receive client recognition for all their hard work on this unique project.
