Exciting progress at high profile Space Park Leicester project
Approximately a year after securing the electrical services contracts for two prestigious projects at Space Park Leicester – Phase 1 in February and Phase 2 in March 2020 – we’re delighted to reflect on the great progress achieved and reveal what’s to come.
Working with Heage-based Bowmer and Kirkland as the main contractor on both schemes, we’re pleased to see Phase 1 nearing completion and announce that works on Phase 2 have recently commenced.
Our on-site team recently saw the installation of feature lighting at Space Park Leicester Phase 1, as well as the installation of safety and fire alarm systems, heating and ventilation systems, and mains distribution.
Work commencing on Phase 2 also includes the design and installation of complete electrical services. The two new buildings set close to the National Space Centre in Leicester will see us deliver a £3.2 million electrical services package.
With Phase 1 set to open later this year and completion of Phase 2 planned for Autumn 2021, the highly-anticipated Space Park will provide state-of-the-art, high-tech facilities for research, development and manufacturing, and house capabilities including satellite design and engineering. Phase 2 will be a 62,000 sq ft robot and AI-assisted research and development facility for low-cost satellite production. The exciting progress at the Space Park was featured on BBC East Midlands in January.
Our team is very proud to be working on these prestigious projects and we can’t wait to see the completed schemes. Keep an eye out for updates!
