Morecrofts secure 4 new projects including ‘London’s greenest industrial estate’
We’re delighted to announce that Morecrofts have secured four new projects after recently revealing the range of quality work secured and delivered since April 2020.
The new projects span from Birmingham to London and across sectors, including industrial and warehousing, commercial offices, and a new educational school building. They deliver a combined total of £3.5 million in electrical work and will see us join leading companies including Kier, VolkerFitzpatrick, and warehouse giant SEGRO on two projects.
The new projects are:
Warehouse Projects at Hayes Industrial Park, West London
Working alongside main contractor VolkerFitzpatrick on SEGRO’s urban industrial scheme in Hayes, West London, Morecrofts will be carrying out complete electrical services. The installation of sustainability features such as photovoltaic panels, electric vehicle charging points and LED lighting, as well as additional features, will see the facility target a BREEAM Excellent rating.
The redevelopment of the site, once home to a Nestlé chocolate factory, will welcome four industrial units totalling 239,665 sq ft with completion set for Spring 2022.
Warehouse Projects in Tottenham North London
This second scheme for both VolkerFitzpatrick and SEGRO is set to ‘change the game for sustainable industrial development’ and become London’s greenest industrial estate. Designed to be carbon neutral with BREEAM Outstanding ratings, the Grade ‘A’ industrial units totalling 90,000 sq ft are expected to be completed in February 2022 and will have ‘green walls’ of external plants. Alongside the Hayes site, Morecrofts will again see the installation of photovoltaic cells and electronic vehicle charging points as part of the development of the site’s fantastic environmental credentials.
We are thrilled to be joining VolkerFitzpatrick and SEGRO at Hayes and Tottenham industrial parks and to be part of such sustainability-conscious schemes. These will mark our second third projects with client VolkerFitzpatrick, following the successful completion of Foundation Park, as well as our first jobs for industry giant SEGRO.
New Offices for NRA Roofing
NRA Roofing & Flooring Services is one of the largest privately-owned roofing contractors in the UK working within the private and public sector. A family-owned business with local head offices in Derbyshire as well as in Birmingham, this project will see us deliver complete electrical installation services to the company’s new headquarters.
Birmingham Ormiston Academy, Birmingham
Having recently commenced on another Department for Education project, Oscott Manor SEND School, we were delighted to be selected for this second government-funded project in Birmingham, securing the complete electrical services for Kier.
The BOA Digital academy will specialise in digital technologies and will be built on the site of the former Vauxhall Gardens Education Centre. The huge scheme will see a 7,887 sq m building, ranging from one-and-a-half to four storeys tall, cater for 900 children when fully up and running. It will include a range of teaching spaces including classrooms, ICT rooms and science labs, as well as a library, sixth form and associated offices. There are also external plans for a multi-use games area.
With extensive experience in the educational sector, securing and delivering three school constructions in the past year alone, we’re looking forward to commencing this large academy project.
These four new schemes showcase Morecrofts’ range of specialist sectors as well as our experience in delivering quality projects for leading blue-chip clients. We can’t wait to get started on site. Keep an eye out for updates along the way!
