The newly developed £8 million Sixth Form Centre at Wilsthorpe School in Long Eaton represents a significant investment in education and community sports facilities. Designed to provide students with cutting-edge learning and recreational spaces, the project includes a modern sports hall, changing rooms, a fitness suite, a sixth form common room, and two new classrooms.

We played a pivotal role in the successful delivery of this project, ensuring that the new sports hall was equipped with advanced electrical systems tailored to meet the needs of both students and the wider community.

As part of a larger ESFA framework, our expertise during the bid stage was instrumental in securing the contract for the main contractor, leading to the successful delivery of multiple schools within the framework. Wilsthorpe School was the first of these projects, featuring a state-of-the-art “Super Block”—a 9,000 square meter secondary school where our team provided the full electrical design and installation.

Beyond its use by students, the new sports centre is an asset to the local community. Alongside the school’s sports fields and courts, the facility is available for hire in the evenings and is already home to Long Eaton Rugby Club, Breaston Park Football Club, Friesland Netball League, and Loughborough Lightning Netball Hub.

The completion of this project has enhanced educational opportunities for sixth form students while also strengthening the school’s role as a hub for community sports. By integrating new electrical infrastructure, our team has helped create a future-proofed facility that supports both academic and athletic excellence.
