Morecrofts and mechanical partner, Mellor Bromley secured the £8.0 million electrical & mechanical services design and installation package for this prestigious project in 2020, with the works carried out in 2020/21. This large specialist technology and teaching facility was constructed during the Covid-19 and is the flagship building on a new space-based innovation and training hub located near the National Space Centre in Leicester.

Our first project for Bowmer & Kirkland West Midlands region saw us carry out the full electrical design and installation, providing complete services throughout this two-phase project. Both phases were carried out concurrently, with phase 1 providing a central hub, teaching spaces and lecture theatres and phase 2 providing more hands-on technology-based learning facilities.

The building secured numerous awards and has cemented our place as a leading provider of electrical services on large learning and innovation facilities in the Midlands. Our first project for the University of Leicester earned us many accolades for our performance, both from the University’s estates team as well as Bowmer & Kirkland. This has also led to further projects and successes with both clients.
