The Green was the second project Morecrofts completed for South Staffordshire College following the successful completion of a large refurbishment at the Rodbaston Campus in 2012.

We were delighted to secure this electrical refurbishment and installation contract for a number of reasons. Firstly, the need to refurbish and convert a large Victorian building to provide a high tech, high quality teaching facility in Cannock town centre and secondly, the recognition from the client for our previous work by appointing us once again.

The derelict building required a complete overhaul including remodelling and re-energising it into a modern well-designed, well-equipped teaching facility for students for years to come.

A large atrium was created in the middle of the college to bring a mass of light into the central core areas. This created complicated engineering issues which were overcome with a great deal of success, resulting in an excellent end product and a happy client.

Service installation included: increased incoming mains supply, main panel and distribution equipment, sub-main cabling, energy-efficient lighting and emergency lighting systems, small power systems, mechanical wiring services, fire, security and access systems, PA system, disabled alarm systems, and lightning protection.
