Morecrofts secured the design and installation contract for electrical services in a new build secondary school for client Derbyshire County Council.

Constructed on a greenbelt site on the edge of Tibshelf village, the school was built to provide a high-quality, environmentally friendly facility for students aged 11–16. The building included teaching facilities, main hall, sports hall as well as administration and office accommodation and extensive external sports pitches, including floodlit all-weather surfaces.

This prestigious project was the first new secondary school to be built in Derbyshire following the cancelling of the government-backed BSF initiative and we were proud to deliver it early and on budget.

Service installation included: incoming electrical mains, mains switchboard and distribution equipment, energy-efficient lighting and emergency lighting systems, lighting control systems, small power services throughout the facility, fire alarm and life safety systems, security systems, data and communication systems, external lighting, lightning protection system, and mechanical services power systems.
